Description
This picture I made for the calendar 2011 project at RiverTwine Holt. [link] We were assigned a month and three characters (to ensure every elf was included somewhere). I got October and Evervale, Windsong and Newt.
I found out they had fishing in common, so I wanted to try an action shot. I also wanted to show that the elves are not perfect, so it's not going entirely flawless. My favorite part are the grassstains actually.
The background was a lot of work, and it doesn't look anything like the photo example I used, but I like the result!
Inked with Faber-Castell, colored with Copics. I also used some white ink for highlights.

Oh, the grass-stained knees are too cute! I love the idea that they've been fighting with this fish from far upstream.
I really love how you handled the background and water. Perfect! Gives such an impression of autumn without distracting from any of the characters.
I like how Windsong and Evervale wear the same colours but the differences in styles between them show so strongly here too. Windsong's look of concentration is fantastic, and you really made her hair style work here! And Newt's look of 'I got him now!' is wonderful.
