Zoetgras in the orchard by afke11 Zoetgras in the orchard by afke11
Part of a series I'm drawing; A4 sized pictures of my #ziltemuzen characters with colorful background all done in Copics.

Time for Zoetgras! I made one at first that I think failed, and even though I plan to recolor that drawing, I found an even better pose for her.
I loved this sunny looking ad for applejuice, and since we've decided to have an orchard in the new holt (hey, we like fruit, we like trees; why not!) it's quite fitting.
In this picture she's showing off what she inherited from her mother.

Drawing with felt-tip pen, colors with Copic markers.

I LOVE the way you handled the light coming through the leaves! Just perfect! Also really like the shading on her outfit; it's appropriately strong, for the light.

That was difficult! Glad you think it looks good, I wasn't too sure.

Do you have the Copics with brush tips? You're strokes are so different from mine, more paintery, almost watercolour-like :)

While I prefer the stiffness of the chiseled marker and pointy feltpen tips. I've never been much of a painter while you are. Funny how that also translate to the medium of markers.

Though I would perhaps like a set of greys with brush tips, just to practise with. I do like that style :)

True, everyone has different preferences! I also like to mix the markers a lot to get the color I want, and that works really well with copics -- something that I left over from working with pastels. :)

I'm kinda lazy, just want the right colour straight away ;) Though my letrasets blend well aswell and I do use that fact. Like I have this dark brown that I can use as a shadowcolour for both my set of neutral browns and my set of red browns. I love that I don't need two browns for that :) Or just colouring everything normally and then using a light or medium blue over the parts further away to create more depth and distance, also a neat effect :)
