Description
One of my entries for the 2010 Elfquest Fan Art Calendar. The theme this year was "Finding One's Place" (finding where one belongs).
I like picking forgotten characters... and I don't think I've seen fanart of the humans before!
So Nonna (and Adar) came to mind. They've meant so much for the quest and it was easy to fit them in the theme. When Cutter visited Nonna again in the village of Olbar it seemed to me that everything that was surrounding her there made her happy, so I tried to fit everything in.
I must say it's more difficult to make the human characters in Elfquest look like themselves than it is for the elves!
I drew the picture with a felt-tip pen, gave all the parts a base color in Photoshop then printed it, colored the rest with pastel pencils, after that made the background darker in Photoshop to bring out the foreground more.
I'm really pleased with this picture and it got picked as February!!

This is the first fanart of Nonna and her family that I've ever seen. I adore the warmth and depth of the colors, and how happy everyone looks. It's a peaceful, loving atmosphere, and I dearly hope this is what Nonna and Adar had with their kids after they got back from Blue Mountain's collapse. Thank you for sharing this.
