Sometimes it's really easy to do a little something for others, because there are so many great charity projects out there you can simply participate in. It's just a great feeling to know that even if you only got one drop in, you and many others helped fill a glass. The Big Knit
At the moment I'm am mostly busy with knitting little hats for innocent Drinks
. "The Big Knit" as it's called in Great Brittain
is already over (though you can still help by buying the bottles with hat!), but if you're in the Netherlands
, they could still use your contribution!
It's an easy pattern and done quickly, even if you're not a very good knitter, and if you are you can get inspired to do practically anything with those things. I'll post mine after the dutch deadline.International Cheetah Day Challenge
I've uploaded a bunch of pictures last year for this, including some of my older photos, so I may not have as much to submit this year, but here it is again:
Please join the International Cheetah Day Challenge 2013, hosted by Save-The-Cheetah
and get involved. Use your art to help save an endangered species! The challenge is simple: submit cheetah-themed art to deviantART on December 4th, International Cheetah Day. See this journal
for details. Holiday Card Project
Still art related, this project is new for me, set up by deviantART itself. It's a way to cheer up people who are hospitalized. No matter what the internet can do, nothing beats getting a real card from a real person.
You can find all the specifics in a Q&A in this journal post
. It's really easy to join and anyone can do it (hint: get your kids involved!).
If you know of any other great causes/charities, that require a little art/knitting, please let me know.
